From even before i picked up a guitar - i was meant to be a psalmist. But when the guitar entered my life at 21 - i was never the same. It came as natural as anything i've ever known. And the ONLY thing i wanted to sing about was God. Up until a few years ago - the vast majority of music i had written was "devotional" or "christian" in nature. I used to lead bands at churches, lead music in small groups in houses, play alone (in a more "devotional" sense), and even (for years) played on the street corners of seatle - trying to inspire the masses (as it were). Needless to say - far more songs will never be heard than will ever be heard from my collection (there are literally hundreds) (much les the ones we made up on the fly) - but singing to, about, for, towards, etc - God - was a really big deal for me for a really long time. And when putting this collection together, i knew that there needed to be an honest representation of what that sounded like. (for more music in this vein - also see the albums, "Box Elder", "Honestly Speaking", "Confetti In The Wind", "Solo"). Sadly - the bulk of my "christian" collection is on cassette tape - and as hard as i tried to take the hiss out of the recording - i just couldn't. And although the cringe factor of some of those tapes can hit 11, - if you ever want to hear any of them - you'll just have to come over. I'll pour you a drink - and i promise - you'll hear some really interesting stuff. I hope you enjoy this collection.
